Signs you need a COO now
Every decision still runs through you.
Growth is creating chaos instead of profit: missed deadlines, dropped handoffs, rework.

Three ways to bring us in
Fractional COO: Ongoing operating discipline part-time, for founders and CEOs who need to step out of the day-to-day.
Interim COO: A full-time leader for a set period — when your COO departs, during a turnaround, or through a post-merger integration.
Project: One defined job with a clear finish line, like a 100-day operating plan, SOP documentation, or post-close integration cleanup.
Many clients ask to bring their Top7 leader on full-time as they grow. Our contracts allow it — a chance to try before you buy.
Your first 90 days
Days 0–30: Stabilize. Map how work actually flows, find the biggest bottlenecks, and take the urgent fires off the CEO's desk.
Days 30–60: Execute. Set clear owners, KPIs and an operating rhythm: weekly metrics, decision rights and a meeting cadence that works.
Days 60–90: Hand off. Document the SOPs, coach your managers, and decide whether you need a full-time COO.
Common questions
How much time will the COO spend with us?
It depends on what your business needs. We take time to understand your environment first, then set the level of involvement — anywhere from about 8 hours a month up to 60.
What does it cost compared with a full-time COO?
Typically between less than 10% and 60% of what a full-time COO costs you. You pay for the senior judgment you need, not a full-time salary.
Can we hire our Top7 COO full-time?
Yes. Many clients grow into the need for a full-time leader, and our contracts allow you to hire your Top7 teammate when you get there. It's a chance to try before you buy.
Isn't a COO just a senior project manager?
A project manager drives one initiative. A COO designs how the whole company runs and holds leaders accountable to it.
